The story of the formation of Uzungöl is, in fact, so interesting and tragic. At the beginning of the 1600s, a great landslide is the result of cutting the gorgeous earthy remnants of the current river, where Uzungöl is present, and the ending stream is cut off and the water begins to accumulate. As time accumulates, the soil becomes harder and becomes the present land fragment and forms the present Uzungöl region. Uzungol was declared a national park in 1989 with a law enacted. Uzungöl region has a total area of 1625 hectares, of which 1250 hectares are forest land.
